Update-12/07/21

Hello, I know that when you are reading this it will no longer be the 12th, but as this is the day I am writing this, I have decided to keep the date the same! First of all, I know this is the first update in a long time. In fact I know I haven’tContinue reading “Update-12/07/21”

Hustle Culture

What should I do with my life? This is a question that I expect you have asked yourself enough times, yet most of us have either already or will in the future may be asked this exact question by others. But how would we be expected to answer this? Work, work work. As the moreContinue reading “Hustle Culture”

The Gentrification of Depop

Most of us enjoy finding a nice cheap find. Be it from in a shop, a charity shop or even online! And it is even better still if you are able to help the environment. Yet take depop. I shall imagine that most of us have probably heard of it. We may even enjoy using it. Yet if you have had it for years, then you may have noticed how the prices have steered up slowly. And this is problematic…

Productivity Culture

Productivity culture tells us that there is always something that we could be doing. Always something extra, which of course doing it is far more productive than not choosing to do it. Literally every time. Economically of course it is convenient, but is this really natural, and how bad can it be for our mental health?

My Problem with Childrens Clothing

I am sure we have all seen slightly “grown up” children’s clothing. While it may seem rather inappropriate, it is also true that the market is only going to respond to what parents want. Nonetheless no one is going to want their children to be badly sexualised, therefore why does it happen so often?

Are 9-5 Jobs Coming to an End?

Anyone else hate the prospect of a boring 9-5 office job? Perhaps instead you would prefer to be an entrepreneur, but in that case you probably should realise that you will be putting in more hours than you may think. Although there again, with the changing technology, and thanks to covid, anything is possible…

I Still Don’t Know What to Make of the Pandemic:

Most of us have an opinion one way or another. Some still believing that a lockdown is the only viable option, while others now strongly opposing it. Some have thought that strong lessons are to be learned from the pandemic, which could spark significant and hopefully positive change in the future. At this point, to admit you are not sure what to think is going to be slightly embarrassing, but surely I am not the only person who still doesn’t really know…

Is it ok if the music we Listen to is Shit?

Is you enjoy listening to mainstream music on the radio, and nothing much else, then should you feel guilty about it? Or is music like EDM, electronic and house not actually that bad?

Is a Gap Year Really Worth It??

Now most years, year 13s would picture a gap year as almost some tropical fantasy, going from beach to beach, clambering over numerous rocky mountains and discovering amazing wildlife. Including as newts, while probably getting as pissed as one! But of course, it is going to be expensive. Very expensive. And unless you have very rich parents or parents who are going to spoil you sick, or that you are doing so much paid work that you would end up failing your A levels, Period. But this year, even with unlikely prospect of families offering up a lot of money, we have another limitation. Covid-19. Meaning that our gap year would most likely be spent watching everyone else go off to university while we are stuck at home. Sigh…

Why you Probably have been Failed by the Mental Health System

Why is it that if something feels wrong on the outside, then people pay so much attention, they become so concerned and they are so quick to find anyone who could potentially be a help, to help us to heal. However if something hurts on the inside then the response is rather much the opposite,Continue reading “Why you Probably have been Failed by the Mental Health System”
